Overview
The main objective of research on income, spending and consumption is to provide the necessary data for setting policies through:Identify the average and patterns of consumption expenditure for the individual and the household according to the social, demographic and economic characteristics of the population.
Providing reliable data for measuring the standard of living of families and individuals, as well as establishing databases for measuring poverty and developing social assistance programs.
Calculating the average annual consumption expenditure per person and family for each item of expenditure, studying the factors affecting it.
Identifying the relative distribution of household spending on different expenditure items and using it as weights in calculating the consumer price index, which is an indicator for measuring inflation.
Providing the necessary data to serve the composition of the national accounts, including the input and output tables and commodity balances.
Identify the average household and individual income according to the different sources of income.
Household possession of means of transportation, communication and household appliances in both urban and rural areas for the purpose of calculating the wealth index of the household.
