Overview
IntroductionFirst – Bulletin Target: aims to identify the size and characteristics of Egyptians who have obtained approval for legal immigration and to know the development of the migration of Egyptians with different specialties and scientific competencies during the period (2016-2020) and to identify the size and characteristics of immigrants in 2020. The Bulletin also aims to identify The size and characteristics of Egyptians who acquired the citizenship of a foreign country during the period (2016-2020) and the identification of other nationalities that Egyptians acquired during the year 2020.
Second - Data sources: The bulletin relies on the data on immigrants and those who acquired the status of an immigrant while abroad on forms 348 and 349 received from the Passports, Immigration and Nationality Department at the Ministry of Interior.
Thirdly - Periodicity: The Bulletin is issued periodically annually from 1968 under the name Permanent Migration of Egyptians. The name of the Bulletin has been changed to (Egyptians who obtained approval to migrate abroad) starting from the 2010 Bulletin, and it was changed in 2015 to “Egyptians who obtained approval to migrate abroad” Immigration abroad and Egyptians holding another nationality” to reflect the content of the bulletin.
Fourth - Inclusion of the bulletin: The bulletin includes immigrants who left the country through legal channels, as well as those abroad who have applied to be considered immigrants, and Egyptians who hold other nationalities.
Fifth - Definitions used: 1 - Migrants: They are those who left the country holding an immigration license through legal channels in accordance with the Immigration and Sponsorship of Egyptians Abroad Law No. 111 of 1983 (Article 8) "A permanent immigrant is considered a permanent immigration every Egyptian who makes his regular residence permanently abroad." country by acquiring the citizenship of a foreign country or obtaining a permanent residence permit in it or residing there for a period of not less than ten years, or obtaining a permission to emigrate from one of the countries of emigration determined by a decision of the minister concerned with immigration affairs.
2-The original immigrant: is the individual who submitted to the concerned authorities a request for a license to immigrate outside the country, explaining his desire to accompany his family members. 3- Migrants who acquired the status of an immigrant: They are those who left the country without an immigration permit and then acquired the status of an immigrant in the country of emigration. 4- Companion: The individual who obtained a license to immigrate outside the country as a dependent of the original immigrant. 5- Acquisition of the nationality of a foreign country: Every Egyptian who makes his regular residence permanently outside the country is considered a permanent immigrant by acquiring the nationality of a foreign country while retaining the Egyptian nationality, and this right is proven to his wife and minor children who immigrate with him or not to retain the Egyptian nationality.
6- The main scientific groups: A- Medical sciences: includes qualifications (human medicine - dentistry - pharmacy - veterinary medicine - nursing - physical therapy) B - Engineering sciences: includes holders of a Bachelor of Engineering. C - Agricultural Sciences: includes holders of a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture. D - Basic Sciences: includes holders of a Bachelor of Science. E - Humanities: includes those who have obtained higher qualifications other than what was mentioned (Commerce - Rights - Education - Etiquette 000 etc.). Sixth - Methods of making data available: paper - C.D - website. Note: Annual rate of change = current year's statement - previous year's statement / previous year's statement x100. Of the total migrants of working age (6 years and over). - The category of individuals who cannot be classified according to occupations occupied the largest share, reaching 97 immigrants, at a rate of 57.7%. Followed by the category of specialists (scientific professionals), their number reached 53 immigrants, or 31.5% Of the total number of immigrants who acquired the status of immigrants (15 years and over). Those with university qualifications ranked first in terms of the number of immigrants, and those who acquired the status of immigrants reached 79 immigrants, or 46.2 percent. Of the total number of immigrants who acquired the status of immigrants at the age of education (10 years and over).
Third - The total number of Egyptians who acquired foreign nationalities in 2020: - The number of Egyptians who acquired foreign nationalities reached 2,611 Egyptians in 2020 compared to 2,616 Egyptians in 2019, with a decrease of 0.2%. Of the total of them (1213 Egyptians obtained permission to naturalize while retaining Egyptian nationality, at a rate of 46.5 percent, 1398 obtained permission to naturalize while not retaining Egyptian nationality, at a rate of 53.5%) of the total.
