Overview
First: The bulletin aim: - Providing data on sports activity of sports clubs and youth centres in the governorates (cities/villages) upon the Republic in addition to studying of employment to provide basic data necessary for local studies and international comparisons.
Second: Framework and response rate:
- Data was collected from sports clubs related to (Government, Public/Public business and Private) sectors that were
(944) clubs. Data of (787) clubs was met with a response rate of 83.4%.
- Youth centres in the governorates (Cities/Villages) reach (5128) centres, Data was collected in aggregated records of youth and sports directorates in the governorates in (27) registers for Cities youth centres and (27) registers for Village’s youth centres.
Third: Used forms
- Comprehensive Inventory: Form 98 (a) Sports, Cultural and Social activities in sports establishments (clubs), which are collected from sports clubs related to (Government, Public/Public business and Private) sectors through Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics offices in the governorates.
- Administrative records: Form 98 (B) Sports, Cultural and Social activities in sports establishments (youth centres), which are collected from Youth and Sports directorates in the governorates.
Fourth:Used definitions
1 - Sports Club:It is any facility establishment aims to at Sports and social idea with the aim of spreading physical & social education ana spreading national spirit among members by creating means and facilitate ways to fill their leisure time for physical,social,sports and health benefits.
-The following are types of sports clubs:
A-Government Sector:Clubs whose membership are limited to government sector employees as Customs Club,Tax Club, etc.
B-Public/Public business Sector:Clubs whose membership are limited to Public/Public business Sector Workers as ESCO Club,Enppi Club… etc.
C-Private Sector:Clubs whose membership are not limited to a certain category of individuals,but the membership is for every citizen who wishes to join the club according to the club regulations as Ahly Club,Zamalek Club… etc.
2- Sport member:It is a member who has the right to engage in sports activity or under training,enrolled in the official club teams,has no right to attend the General Association and nomination for membership of Board of Directors.
3- Working member:It is a member who has the right to attend the General Assembly and nominate membership of Board of Directors.
4- Affiliate member:It is a person who is accepted in the club membership according to the regulations and has the right to participate in the club activity but does not have the right to vote in the General Assembly.
5- Sub member:It is a member who limit his membership on the club branch and treated as an active member within the
branch where he participates,has no right to attend the General Association and nomination for membership of original cub Board of Directors.
6- Youth Centres: They are centres equipped with buildings and facilities set up by the state or local councils in cities or villages to allow citizens to use their leisure time to practice various aspects of sports activities under supervision of a specialized leadership, including:
(A)Urban Youth Centres: They are centres located in governorates cites and centres.
(B)Village Youth Centres: They are centres located in villages.
7- Young and Cubs teams:Each game union determine Adult and Cubs players age,for example: in football Adult team consists of players of age more than 21 years old,and Cubs Team consists of players of age less than 21 years old that Age varies from game to game.
Fifth:Timetable
The bulletin goes through three basic stages starting from collecting the statement through entry stage and finally extracting final tables and printing bulletin according to the following schedule:

Sixth:Data processing
1-A desk review of the forms received from the field is kept up-to-date to examine their consistency and check for errors and refer to the source from which the form was completed in case of errors either through the office that collected the statement, or through the department responsible for of the bulletin production (General Administration of Service statistics).
2-The revised forms shall be sent in batches to (IT Sector - General Administration of Registration) which take a sample of the forms to be reviewed.
3-In case of the sample non-acceptance - The improper batch will be returned to (General Administration of Service statistics) to avoid errors and send back to General Administration of Registration.
4-Upon acceptance of the proper batch,Records of youth centres (Form 98/B) shall be sent to the Registration Halls for data entry that forms distributed on data entry and communication becomes between (General Administration of Service statistics and General Administration of Registration) to address any obstacles to data entry by reviewing the errors lists resulting from data entry operation.
5-For (98/a) form of sports clubs,it is sent to (General Administration of Census Software) to be registed using the scanner in contact with (General Administration of Services Statistics) to address any problems that may arise during the forms scanning operation.
6-After completion of data entry operation,General Administration of Census Software is informed,where data entered from (General Administration of Registration and General Administration of Census Software)is taken,Errors purification programs are passed that are prepared in agreement with (General Administration of Service statistics) where (General Administration of Service statistics) responsible for follow-up and receiving not responsible for errors and correct them.
7-After making sure that there are no errors are printed in the bulletin preliminary tables,it is sent to the concerned department in (General Administration of Service statistics) to review them as tables are ready for publication.
Seventh:Quality procedures
1-After printing the bulletin tables,General Administration of Service statistics verifies the validity of the outputs produced:
A.Verify that coverage and response rates are as required.
B.Comparison of data produced this year with data from previous years or data produced elsewhere.
C. Verify data consistency.
2-Send the bulletin to the technical affairs in Central Administration of Population Statistics in the Sector,where the produced statistics are audited,evaluated,show statistics from all points of view and back to General Administration of Service statistics if there are notes.
3-Finally the bulletin is back to Technical Affairs related to CAPMAS Presidency which confirms that the related statistics and information are appropriate and up to the required quality level,Therefore It is ready for use where pre-publication was discussed and approval of statistical content was released.
Eighth: Preparation of the final product (Bulletin)
After transferring the collected data to statistical outputs and receiving the final tables from Central Administration of Service Statistics, the responsible department for producing of the Bulletin (General Administration of Service statistics) produces additional analyses of indicators, time series, charts and merges them with the rest of tables to become a final product.
