In the framework of CAPMAS statistical role in developing data released continuously to be more comprehensive to keep up with the economic changes, CAPMAS started the develop of the monthly bulletin of Producer Price Index in November 2017 for August and September 2017 data, and the developed bulletin included the following:
- Update the base year to be January 2016 the new base period.
- Update weights by using the industrial, agricultural, services production gross value in public sector /public business and private sectors for years (2013/2014)
- Update the commodity and services basket by adding new commodity, in order to be more comprehensive.

Abstract
Producer Price Index time series released data of September as a base (2004/2005), and according to the economic changes and the users ‘needs we developed the methodology and released new time series of Price Index (PI) starts with a base period of January 2016 from data of August /September 2017 bulletin.
Bulletin goals :
- Measure the changes in the domestic producer’s prices’ levels of commodities and services.
-One of the economic short term indicators of inflation.
-The national accounts deflator.
-Relying on by various international organizations such as: IMF – CBE for comparisons, Economic oversight and monetary policy evaluation.
-Economic analysis tool for every business men and researchers.
